Welcome to Rustic Creations!

I am a chainsaw sculptor based in Cornworthy, Devon. On this website I would like to introduce you to my art and furniture. I will briefly talk about the production process, followed by a description of how to get here and how to contact me.

It is not really my intention to sell via the internet. However, if you really like something, I will deliver locally and sculptures can be sent by mail (I regret, but postage and packing are at the expense of the customer).

The production process:

Only local timber is used. When producing the sculptures, first I use the chainsaw to give the log a basic shape, most people are amazed though, how detailed the sculpture is at this stage already. Next the surfaces are smoothened and finer elements are added using angle grinder and sand paper. To protect the wood and therefore making sure the sculpture will last for a long time with little effort from your side, it is then dropped in a fire, just long enough to burn the very top layer. This also gives the wood a lovely texture.

When producing furniture, I cut the boards and other elements straight from the trunks. These are then assembled using metal or wooden pegs and screws where necessary. To protect this wood, it is treated with clear wood preserver.

Your own ideas build to measure:

If you have realistic ideas of objects and animals for me to shape, please do not hesiate to contact me. Also if you you have special requests (e.g. a burnt mushroom) I will prepare a sculpture as you would like it where possible.
